SI Precast now offers the newest and
most innovative storm shelter on the market. The
SafePorch is
the newest technology in storm shelters, and
provides an attractive porch as well.
 SafePorch
storm shelters are manufactured with 5,000# psi
concrete and reinforced with ½ rebar and 10 gauge
wire mesh. All walls of the SafePorch
are 4 ½ thick, which is enough to withstand 250 mph
winds or an EF5 tornado on the Fujita scale. These
storm shelters are built more like a bank vault than
a storm shelter!
The SafePorch
features a self draining hatch constructed of
Ό aluminum tread plate, with reinforcement, and
stainless steel spring loaded interior latches. The
windows of the SafePorch
are constructed with a Ό aluminum frame, ½ lexon
window pane, and 1/8 perforated stainless steel
plate. This design allows for ample air circulation,
to eliminate dampness and mildew, while still
providing superior protection from flying debris.
The SafePorch
is large enough to provide a safe haven for 4
adults, plus children and pets, and can also be
located right at your door step for easy access.
